A Beachy Cool Pool House

Dreaming of a perfect pool house to go with your dream pool? This one has all the elements needed for enjoying a beautiful summer day rolling right into an al fresco dinner at home: easy access to the pool, a casual area to lounge and have a snack, and a dining patio ready for larger gatherings.

The pool house, designed and built by Raymond Design Builders, is situated behind the main house and compliments the clean lines and simple landscape. The accordion-style sliding door by Nana Wall Systems allows for a wide open view and a breezy feeling.

Inside the pool house, ship-lapped walls, wood beams and coastal style furniture give the space an open and airy atmosphere. The homeowner did the interior design herself, including a pair of “Romeo” chairs by Kerri Rosenthal, which she says hit you in just the perfect spot behind your neck when you relax into them. She also purchased a pair of Raffia Tables (which double as ottomans) from Salte, a favorite home decor boutique in Edgartown, on Martha’s Vineyard. The console behind the sofa, the table lamps and the bathroom art are from Millie Rae’s in Westport. The bleached wood round mirror is from Bel Mondo.

Outside, the covered dining patio has built-in heaters in the ceiling for cooler nights and a serving window, also accordion-style, for easy dining, pool-side.

The new dining space was something of an afterthought, says the homeowner: “we already had a patio and didn’t think we needed another dining space but now that it’s here we use it all the time, even for Thanksgiving dinner!”
