Saturday SNOOP: Where Resort Wear Meets Rest

A few years ago, Erika Masiero and her family returned to the States after living in Singapore, ready to make a historic Westport house built in 1858 their own. With an eclectic mid-century style and room-by-room renovations underway, the primary bedroom quickly moved to the top of the list—it needed more storage, more comfort, and a major update.

Erika, a lifelong fashion lover and founder of the flirty resort-wear brand, Macey Jane, had a clear vision: she wanted a space that felt like a true escape. Somewhere to breathe, recharge, and hit the reset button. So she called in designer Jessica Manela of Tusk Home + Design to bring the vision to life.

The result: A total sanctuary with rich greens, muted pinks, luxe textures, and smart built-ins. It’s calm, it’s cozy, and it’s everything Erika wanted—and then some.

Take a peek inside Erika’s new retreat—you’ll be inspired to carve out a little everyday escape of your own.

Every corner of Erika’s new upstairs retreat is filled with thoughtful touches. Her favorite feature (and ours)? A custom daybed tucked into the room’s turret nook. Oversized and inviting, it’s perfect for afternoon naps, getting lost in a good book, or just soaking up the sunlight. Bonus: there’s hidden storage underneath! Check out this incredible before and after:

Erika’s favorite element is the stunning scalloped chandelier, a statement that’s at once dramatic and soft.

Deep greens and playful pinks add sophisticated luxury to the space. Textural fabrics wrap the room in warmth and comfort. Color inspiration came from the artwork, created by an Australian artist.

To add much-needed storage and eliminate the need for dressers, Manela designed a custom oak wall surrounding the fireplace. Closets are concealed and decorative shelving lends an opportunity to display special items.

Chrome finishes add just the right amount of shine. Erika tells Designport, “we tried to balance the masculine and feminine energy in the room. You learn a lot about your partner when doing a renovation. I learned that my husband hates brass! But I am really happy with how it all came together. It’s perfect for us.”
