A Modern Masterpiece Kitchen Before & After

Go big and go home! This traditional Connecticut Colonial kitchen turned into a striking modern masterpiece by thinking outside the box.  Homeowner Danielle Rossoni worked with her architect Ranney Michaels to create space without adding on to the house. Stealing some square footage from a large home office at the front of the home and relocating a powder room from the foyer to the mudroom created space for a massive refrigerator wall. The extra few feet of depth made the whole room feel twice as big.

A structural beam was needed to support the second floor after moving the wall, which leant itself to the addition of decorative wood-wrapped beams. Other dramatic details include wall to wall marble subway tile and a new large picture window with draws the eye out to the lush yard.

The crowning jewels are five Tom Dixon Studio “Beat” pendants lighting up the over-sized island. Dani started with three lights and then went for the extra two. Bold moves, beautiful space - #kitchenenvy!
