SNOOP: Amanda's Heart of a Home

With Valentine’s Day just days away, this home feels like a love letter to fresh starts.

Amanda’s home before the renovation

After her divorce, Amanda was ready for something smaller and more manageable for herself and her three daughters. Two are now away at college, while her youngest lives at home, and the goal was a space that felt cozy without feeling closed off. She found it in an adorable, well-loved three-bedroom Cape in a walk-to-town Westport neighborhood — charming, but ready for a full gut renovation.

Amanda partnered with her general contractor, Steven Beck—who also happens to be her ex-husband (we love a divorce story with a happy ending)—to completely rework the home.

Together, they opened up the footprint by taking down walls, enlarging windows, and creating an open-concept living room and kitchen. Floors were replaced, bathrooms were rethought, and the house was transformed into a light, airy, beachy bungalow that feels modern but still deeply personal.

Take the tour below of Amanda Beck’s home designed from the heart.

Symbols of the love that fills the home can be seen throughout, in Amanda’s carefully chosen artwork and decor.

For Amanda, it doesn’t get much better than a Sunday afternoon spent curled up in the swing chair with the fire on.

But her absolute favorite space is her half bath — a small room with big personality. The pink heart peel-and-stick wallpaper, which Amanda picked out even before finding the house, sets the mood, with close friend Riva helping bring the space to life in a way that feels so Amanda.

The first floor primary bedroom originally lacked an ensuite, with only a closet and a shared hallway bath. By removing both, the team carved out a brand-new primary bathroom. From the layout to the tile, it’s now a room she “absolutely adores.”

Upstairs, the cape’s original two bedrooms have been brightened with ship-lap ceilings and accessorized by her daughters. We truly love this sweet home - proof that it’s not about the size of the space, but the amount of love that fills it.
