Home Tour with Maison Sheik

Homeowner and Interior designer Neva Alsheik loves to host - often multiple times a week! She gave Designport a tour of her living and dining rooms which reflect her signature classic modern style.

The first stop is her living room, where newer pieces, reupholstered classics and antique items are married into a signature style she adorably describes as “Middle Eastern Meets High Wasp.”

Her style and love affair with the color blue is a nod to her new Westport, CT community:

“We are by the coast so I wanted to bring in a lot of blues and keep it fresh.”

This blend of layers, colors, and patterns fuses harmoniously into a living room that is perfect for making guests feel at home.

In the spirit of sustainable design:

“A lot of these pieces are antiques that we bought locally and had them refurbished and recovered.”

The next stop is the dining room - which is the “house favorite.” The inspiration for the room started with the chairs, which her husband’s great-grandmother brought over on a ship from England!

“I really wanted to bring this English garden aesthetic to the room.”

Colefax and Fowler wallpaper, antique furniture, and a chandelier bring this vision to life all year round, creating an ideal space for hosting memorable gatherings.

Here’s the dramatic before and after! Voilà!
