A Space Worth Sinking Into

Designed by The Rath Project, this home strikes that hard-to-achieve balance between feeling cozy and still feeling special - comfortable enough to relax in, but bold enough to remember.

The heart of the home is a dramatic family room anchored by a sunken conversation pit (a comeback we fully support). Checked upholstery invites friends and family to pile in for cozy hangouts, while layered patterns, and a welcoming fireplace add warmth and depth. Crisp white wood paneling keeps the palette fresh and allows the curated collection of art and handmade pottery to shine,

A few noteworthy sources:

  • The sofa is upholstered in Robert Allen Pecore Plaid.

  • Visual Comfort’s Paper Moon Light floats effortlessly above the conversation pit. The Clementine 48” Tiered Chandelier makes a playful but substantial statement in the dining area.

  • The dining chairs are the Coley Home Sophie in custom plum and fushia fabrics selection by Rath.

  • Rath sourced a Moroccan vase and other stand-out pieces locally at Bridgeport’s Monger’s Market.

  • Select Turkish rugs are from Wendy Cooper Rugs.

Look closely at the mantel: multi-colored candles finish the space with a playful nod to the home’s color story. A small detail, but one that pulls everything together.

From the moment you step inside, the entry foyer signals that this home is anything but cookie-cutter. Soft blue wallpaper with a vintage sensibility envelops the walls and ceiling, creating an inviting, layered first impression. A burl-wood buffet brings warmth and depth, while a beautifully carved green door adds an unexpected note of character.

Pattern, texture, and color carry into the bedroom, where the space feels calm and comfortable.

Who said playful can’t be chic? In the playroom, bold patterns, rich textures, and a whole lot of personality make it a space that feels just as design-forward as the rest of the home.

And you know we’re blushing over the laundry room’s peachy cabinetry and patterned wallpaper combo.
