Q&A
How do you describe your style in a few words?
Cool, Comfortable, Chic.
I like to create elevated interiors that won’t be seen everywhere else. They have a modern vibe, while still inviting you in to stay and enjoy.
Which projects excite you most and are you hoping to do more of?
My favorite projects are custom builds where I collaborate closely with the homeowners and builders to create interiors that have a cohesive design, integrating everything from the building materials and fixtures to the furnishings and fabrics. These custom projects range from large, full-scale homes to smaller renovations, or even kitchen and bath updates. Starting in the building phase allows me to more fully utilize my inherent ability to visualize the whole scope, and impart my vision from planning through construction.
You take on a wide breadth of projects, from new builds to real estate. How do those connect?
I offer specialized design services that bring valuable insight into the important decision of purchasing or selling a home. Sometimes that means consulting with buyers before or right after they purchase—space planning, renovations, or updates—so they can feel confident their investment will meet their lifestyle goals. On the other side, marketing a home for sale is very different from personalized design, so I can work with real estate agents to update listings to create maximum appeal for today’s buyers.

This 1763 Westport home is older than the U.S.—but thanks to designers Diane Karmen and Nancy Galasso, you wouldn’t guess it after its bold makeover. Peek inside to see how history and modern design collide.
